The features I have in my sights for the next chat update, whenever that happens...
- Customizable number of posts you see in the main text window; currently the number is locked at 20.
- Different threshold for the number of posts you can see if there is heavy whisper traffic; i.e., maybe you can see a maximum of 20 public messages, but a maximum of 30 total (public + whispers), so that you can see a lot more whispers without loosing track of the chat.
- Checkbox in profile editor to suppress conversion of carriage returns in description to <BR> tags (low priority, but on my list.)
- Better character database viewer interface, it's become an unweildy list to navigate. Either break into pages based on a set number of entries per page (50 25 ) or break up list alphabetically.
- Customizable timezones (unlikely, but on my list.)
- Improved log reading tools; possibly add date stamp to entries in logs; time-based rather than number-of-post based log requests (i.e., "Log for last 24 hours" instead of the current "Last 250, 500, 1000 and 2000 posts" logs.
- Extended archive (for when the last 2000 posts is just not enough! :) )
- Keep track of when someone has already seen the current MOTD (Message Of The Day), and do not repeat it every time they log in.
- Private, invite-only chats (probably won't happen because of server resource restrictions.)
- Fix vore4k's help page.
- Fix vore4k bug with alarms, unanswered alarms don't expire (i.e., you ask for an alarm in 10 minutes, log off in 8, and the alarm is unused; sometime when you log in a week from now but at that same time, vore4k will report the alarm to you... duh :) )
- Allow requests to vore4k to be made as whispers.
- Fix bug where vore4k will respond to whispers publicly.
- Fix vore4k so that keywords with spaces are allowed when creating associations.
- Allow vore4k to store and deliver (a very limited number of) messages to users who are currently offline; kind of like the "page #mail" facility available on some MUCKs.
- Allow vore4k to know it's being addressed even when a line doesn't start with its name.
- Better parsing for vore4k, more features and functions for vore4k, etc.
Any ideas or bugs, let me know...
