Some more minor chat updates...
- Bug that allowed several people to log in as the same character at once
has been almost fixed; it'll be REALLY rare now :)
- Strings that are too long (about 40 characters) get spaces inserted into
them to prevent unwanted scrolling of the main chat window. This affects
the next feature...:
- URLs are now converted into hyperlinks (finally!), but all HTML tags
are still disabled. Visible text in URLs will get spaces inserted into it
if the URL is more than about 40 characters long, so you can't cut-n-paste
a URL without going back and taking out the spaces; but the hyperlinks
themselves will work fine, and you can just do a right-click, "Copy Link
Location", and paste the link that way. No clean answer to this, and
URLs are the most common cause of the scrolling that I put the
40-character-string-limit code in to prevent in the first place ;) Sad to
say this was REALLY easy to implement, if I had put on my thinking cap I
could have had this implemented a long time ago... sorry about that.
(Yes, I'll add the same functionality to the message board shortly; nobody
uses this message board but me, so I haven't made it a priority for fixes
and features.)
- Character database is now alphabetically sorted, has improved readability,
and marks temporary accounts (accounts with no password) with an asterisk.
Let the bugs start rolling in... :)
