Message title: Millions of chat bugs fixed

Well, it feels like millions at least :) Fixed quite a few bugs with the
chat room, including:
- fixed strange timeouts that booted users periodically
- fixed logfiles (they weren't being updated at all)
- slightly better color support
- blank lines (pressing the ENTER button without typing any text) are
no longer accepted... you can still type a blank line next to your name,
but you have to actually TYPE a space or two before pressing enter :)
- newlines are turned into <BR> tags in character descriptions now
- some internal optimizations
...lots of good stuff :)
I also changed some of the parameters for writing out logfiles - if
you find that whispers are getting lost or text seems to be dissapearing,
PLEASE let me know so I can adjust the chat room accordingly. I have
a better fix for this planned, but I don't have the time right now to
implement it. Once that fix is in place, I'll be able to let any user
trigger a dump to the logfiles (waiting for a certain block of text to get
pushed out to the logs can be annoying.)
